The links on this page are from a variety of different sources
which represent an array of perspectives, agendas and beliefs.
They are shared here as a quick and easy way
to access the information that is already out there
but may be either impossible or hard to find with a basic internet search.
In order to provide a realistic understanding
of how we have been getting informed about IUDs through media outlets,
all articles from news outlets about IUDs and closely related topics are included,
regardless of the particular intention and background of the writers and publishers.
Health articles that do not have a publishing date are not included on this page.
Some of them are simply repeating promotional information released from manufacturers and health officers,
others are pro-life and therefore anti-IUD because IUDs can “cause abortions” ,
others are press releases from organizations focusing on women’s health and/or delving deeper into the finances and politics involved; an increasing number are from efforts by victims of medical devices who are trying to share their stories.
Many are reporting on the topic in a less biased way and therefore offer several points of view and ask questions
while others are extremely biased and might even be labeled as “propaganda” .
Think critically and take everything with a grain of salt.
Check sources to see who is saying what and why.
Look for patterns in what was being promoted and when.
