Predictors of early discontinuation of contraceptive implants and intrauterine devices (IUDS) among young women: a prospective cohort study

LARC methods such as etonogestrel contraceptive implants and IUDs provide effective pregnancy prevention, but discontinuation rates are higher among adolescents and young women than among adults. Identifying predictors of discontinuation may help in developing interventions to improve method continuation. Our objective was to identify factors associated with early discontinuation (less than 30 months of use) of LARC methods among adolescents and young women.
