Blackfishing the IUD

by Caren Beilin

Caren Beilin got a copper IUD that triggered a dramatic and swift attack on her body… which was eventually diagnosed as RA (Rhematoid Arthritis).

This book is composed of her writings about this experience, alternating with short sections contributed by those who have experienced other adverse effects from IUDs.

PODCAST SERIES

Part of the awareness efforts being made by both Caren and Wolfman Books is the creation of a “Blackfishing the IUD” podcast series, which in its first few years has featured interviews with many people who are putting lots of energy into helping inform the public about the impact these devices are having on so many lives.

FULL STOP MAGAZINE

I first found out about Caren through an article that she wrote for Full Stop in 2016 called “Paragard Don’t Get One: my copper IUD library”. This original treatise has since been updated and expanded but still tells a moving story about her experience that also serves as a very helpful guide to those going through similar things themselves.
